As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I provide treatment to children, adolescents, families, couples and adults. I have worked for one year, with the Supreme Court of California in San Bernardino. I worked in their co-occurring program, aimed at helping people with substance abuse problems, as well as mental health issues. I worked in a crisis Mental Health service center for two years, providing services for teens and adults in crisis. With the county of Riverside I have 3 years of work experience with kids from 3 years old until 18 years old. I was in charge of the urgent care and hospital discharge groups. I have 3 years of work experience with kids with autism, moderate to severe. And, additionally I have a year and a half experience in detention centers.
In addition to my experience in the United States, I worked and participated in trainings on an international level. I have 6 years of work experience in the social field and more then 7 years of volunteering experience in different social sectors. I participated and advocated in a Lebanese social project at the Lebanese parliament in Down Town Beirut-Lebanon in 2008. The project aimed to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities.
I traveled and visited a lot of countries and states which helps me better understand the cultural differences, traditions and the process of acculturation. Which, may be challenging and complex. I have a perfect understanding of the acculturation process and the challenges that the parents and their kids face acculturating to two different cultures.
I am familiar with the European, Latino, and Middle Eastern cultures.
